Day 92 by CinnamonAlchemy
That’s it! Done with another ArtSlam. Fun and Frustration all at once. I’m really excited about the stuff I did this year, even if it was rough for a while.
And what I am most pleased with is the emergence of Zack. It’s very rare that a new character just pop out of my head in such a demanding fashion, and I’m way excited to have come out of this with a new story idea, setting and character.
So to end the Slam, I finished this piece. It’s done. Zack says goodbye and thanks, and so do I!
I also made a complete portfolio post of every drawing over here at the LJ ArtSlam.
Day 90 by CinnamonAlchemy
I figured the last speedpaint refinement I’d do for this year would be the first speedpaint portrait I did in this series. Looking back at that one vs. the last speedpaint portrait, I can see that I learned a lot and have gotten more comfortable not-blending in Photoshop.
Day 86 by CinnamonAlchemy
Reworked another of the speedpaints. Six more days!
Back to GW2…
Day 85 by CinnamonAlchemy
The urge to draw is waning, so I went back and took one of the speedpaints into Painter to try refining it.
Day 84 by CinnamonAlchemy
Didn’t put as much effort into this one. I blame the proximity of the GW2 release.
Day 83 by CinnamonAlchemy
Whoops, almost forgot to post. More speedpaints. This angle was difficult.
Day 81 by CinnamonAlchemy
I… think I’m actually starting to have fun with this. Especially these last two days. I’ve been a little shocked by how they’ve turned out - in a good way.
I feel like I’m having an easier time with placing color. Maybe if I do enough of these, I can start to do it without a ref. For now, I’m going with this.
Day 80 by CinnamonAlchemy
~45 mins in Photoshop from photo ref. Still speedpainting. Working on face angles and lighting.
Day 79 by CinnamonAlchemy
More speedpainting portraits. Playing with texture and colors. Under 30 minutes; rushed the hair, whoops.
